WHY ALL THE FUSS ABOUT RETURNING THE ITEMS WE RECEIVED WHEN WE JOINED? 

   ALL of the items lent to you when you joined are COPYRIGHTED and belong to

   PAWS. Imagine for a moment if a member did not renew and was walking

   around their town with a PAWS vest on and the dog bit someone. It would be

   "assumed" since the vest was on the dog that they were INDEED members and

   quite possibly a lawsuit would not be far behind. In order to protect this

   organization we MUST ensure ONLY active members are allowed access to our

   materials. Thank you for understanding. 

HOW MUCH OF MY DUES AND DONATIONS IS GOING FOR SALARIES AND PENSIONS OF BOARD MEMBERS?

   NONE - 0 - NADA!​    

THERE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE A PUSH FOR FUNDRAISING AND DONATIONS - WHY?

   PAWS is a non-profit organization and the PRIMARY means of support is through

   our numerous fundraising efforts and the generosity of others thru donations.

WHY ARE LOCAL MEETINGS HELD AT A MEETING PLACE FOR A WHILE THEN SUDDENLY THEY ARE CANCELLED OR MOVED?

   In some instances the lack of membership participation prompts a particular

   site being cancelled. In other cases those venues have decided they do not

   want to host our events so we must look to relocate. Some are seasonal - no

   awnings or shades for the babies is ok for certain times of the year and NOT ok

   during other times.

IS PAWS A TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATION?



WHY HASN'T THE PRESIDENT OF PAWS EVER VISITED OUR AREA SO WE CAN MEET HER?

   The President and Founder of PAWS would L O V E to travel and meet with

   every chapter and attend events outside of Florida however, it all goes back to

   FUNDS. There simply are NOT enough funds to pay for all of the travel

   expenses involved in making these trips. 

​​ARE ANY OTHER ITEMS NEEDED BESIDES CASH?

​   YES, PAWS is always in need of postage stamps, Staples gift cards, used ink

   cartridges which we submit for recycling, tyvek letter size envelopes and ID

   card refills and printer ribbons. IF in doubt, call headquarters for an updated list.  

I HAVE SUBMITTED PICTURES FOR THE WEBSITE AND NONE OF THEM EVER APPEAR - WHY?

   Our volunteer 'webmaster' does his very best to put only the best pictures on the

   website. Remember, our website can be seen by anyone in the world so we must

   put our best foot forward. Typically though, a great majority of the pictures have

   poor framing (leashes going out of frame, peoples arms and legs yet no body,

   the back end of the 'baby' facing the camera and generally poor quality) to

   mention just a few.

I REALLY DON'T LIKE OR USE EMAIL SO WHY CAN'T A NEWSLETTER OR OTHER PAWS CORRESPONDENCE JUST BE MAILED TO ME?

   ​Without being repetitious it again boils down to FUNDS. Mailers, newsletters and

   letters all eat up valuable monies that are allocated for other organization uses.

This page will address (hopefully) any questions you may have or set the record straight on things you "may have heard."

WHY DOESN'T PAWS ATTEND MORE EVENTS, EVEN IF SPONSORED BY OTHER OGANIZATIONS?​


The main reasons why are as follows: (A) Many of these events require an 'entry' fee or a 'donation' in order to attend. Typically these fees can be anywhere from $30 to $300. As PAWS is a non-profit every penny must be spent to provide maximum benefit to the organization. As such, we cannot spend our resources on these events. (B) Events such as these require volunteers to man. Typically 3 to 5 members are required and this number must be maintained throughout the time of the event. (C) Supplies and other PAWS related materials must be picked up at corporate headquarters (for FL events) and must be returned within 24 to 48 hours. 


Having stated all of the above, it would be nice to attend as many events as possible. If an individual feels there is an event that PAWS should attend, the above items need to be addressed beforehand. (A) Either the individual requesting attending the event is willing to pay the fee or has acquired a sponsor who is willing to pay the fee (B) The individual HAS procured sufficient members to properly staff the event and (C) Has someone that is willing to pick up PAWS materials and return them to corporate headquarters.
