Paws for Friendship, Inc. is a non-profit organization of volunteers sharing the unconditional love of their personal pets with people in need, throughout the world. We are a non-profit 501c3 tax deductible organization. Our program is designed to reach out to all in need, not just any specific age or disability. We reach those in need who are in cancer units, dialysis centers, burn centers, hospices, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. We also work with children who have had emotional or physical trauma. Camp Easter Seals, school programs, health and awareness programs, as well as working directly in schools. We also have worked directly with families on home visitation for the elderly.

Our Animal Assisted Therapy Program is friendly to all situations.  Around the World we open Chapters that visit facilities of all sorts. Because of the great distance involved it was impossible for any local member to be everywhere the need existed. That need exists around the world for caring and compassion. Throughout these 18 years we have worked with many hospitals around the world. From Belgium to South America we have corresponded with hospitals and health related agencies to inspire those to implement our program to reach those in need in their areas.

* Regarding the Raw Diet, we believe YOU and your Veterinarian know your Pet best. We encourage a healthy relationship between your Pet and their Veterinarian. Many of our Members are fed the Raw Diet with excellent health results!

PLEASE NOTE!! we offer CGC Evaluations as well as Evaluations for the American Kennel Club's AKC Canine Partners Program open to all mixed breed Dogs!!! Please call or email about scheduling an Evaluation today!

This is a touching story of one of our new and unique Members, Boo.

Our family had been discussing different ways for us to help our community.  With our love of animals and a household full of them, it only seemed natural for us to want to share the joy they bring to us with others.  So brings us to Boo's story.

Boo lived his whole life (8 years) with an elderly horse and a young girl. Just this past year the horse passed away at over 40 years old.  The young girl grew older and left for College.

We don't know much about Boo's life before we met him standing in a sandy front yard, but we can tell you what we found, a miniature horse with huge signs of neglect.  Within seconds of seeing him we had fallen for him.  There was no leaving him behind.  His hooves grown out so long he couldn't walk properly, his joints popped out loud as he tried.  We had our farrier meet us to see what could be done.  He was able to trim the hooves down so Boo would be more comfortable, but it would take many visits before the hooves could be properly trimmed.  Once home, this was quickly followed by a vet check and his first ever dental appointment.  Boo stands less than 30 inches tall and about 200 lbs.  He is a little guy with a wonderful, loving disposition.  We believe that Boo is doing what he does best, being happy and spreading it to everyone that can get their hands on him.  In the past couple of months with Paws for Friendship, we have seen him touch the lives and hearts of many, including ours.  Boo is a natural at spreading a genuine happiness and love.  We are only glad to be along for the ride.  Robin Bidwell

Here is a letter from one of our Members after a recent visit:

Hi Jan, Samson's Mom and I went to Emeritus (Assisted Living) today, and it was mine and Petals first time visiting Emeritus.  We had a great time!  All of the residents and staff were so excited to see our babies :)
I wanted to tell you about an experience Petals and I had there that I will never forget.  We came up to a very very sweet old man who was so excited to see us because he wanted his wife to see Samson and Petals  when she came out of her room.  So we came back later when she was out of her room.  He told us that his wife coudn't speak, and it was obvious that she was unable to express what she feeling clearly but she was breathing heavy and seemed very happy to see Petals.  Then she said the words "a rabbit" and the old man looked at me in shock and said, "She doesnt speak...did you hear her say rabbit?  Thank you so much!"  I could feel my eyes tearing up, it was the cutest thing!
