Operation Homeward Bound!
What we hope to achieve is more awareness for a rescued or second chance
pet. There are so many in need of loving homes that we thought the best way
we could help is offer a space devoted to these wonderful pets. We will
update our links for you to credible rescue sites as well as actually put
information on our site about animals we know about first hand. We realize
the need is really in educating people about spaying and neutering their
pets. Unfortunately, people are not ready to accept this as a solution, thus
creating the problem. Please feel free to contact us at
jenniesmom@pawsforfriendshipinc.org
directly if you have any questions.
Please remember we do not in anyway shape or form support puppy mills, pet
stores that sell puppy mill puppies or ‘rescues’ that are not for the
welfare of the pet.
15 years ago our beloved Jennie founded this organization and as everyone
knows, she herself was a rescue. Her previous owners were going to destroy
her because they termed her "mean and out of control" I would like you to
know, this animal went on to save my life, literally, and become the Founder
of this International Organization. If you were lucky enough to have known
her, to have her touch your life in anyway, then you know when I tell you,
she was loved with a love that was much more than love. There isn’t a day
that passes my heart doesn’t ache for her.
It is with great pride that Jennie and I introduce you to

08/14/08: We have three great dogs that desperately need
foster homes. If you can help, even just temporarily, please contact
me, Carla Rasmussen : carasmussen@oppd.com
Maddie - purebred female Basset rescued from a local breeder. A member
of her current foster home is extremely allergic to her - obviously we need
to find her a new place as quickly as possible. She is great with kids
and other dogs and is a very easy dog. She is housetrained. We
are waiting to spay her until she recovers more from recently having
puppies.
Merry - a sweet little female Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. She was
recently returned from her adopter and we had to put her in a foster home
that is absolutely overwhelmed. We need to give this foster home a
break. Merry is fully vetted and housetrained.

Kelly - a 39-pound female retriever mix. She is completely
housetrained, wonderful with children, and great with other dogs.
Fully vetted. She is currently in boarding at Town & Country and
absolutely terrified.

Notice: There are so many pets looking for forever homes
that it is hard to keep up with who has found a home and who has not.
Once a posting is made, it will stay on the web site for about one month,
and then be removed to allow focus on newer adoptees. If you are able to
place a pet,
please let us
know because that is GREAT news. If you want to keep a pet listed
longer, please let me know by
clicking here to send me an e-mail. Rich
