09/11/2006: Introducing "McEmn's Simply Elegant" or 'Ellie' to the
world! She was lovingly raised at McEmn Great
Danes in Valrico Florida. Ellie is a gorgeous little brindle and is 14 weeks
old and 46 lbs to date! I had been looking and hoping one day someone would
come along and continue Jennie's Legacy. Ellie is the one, I feel it in my
heart. She, nor anyone else, will ever take Jennie's place, of this I am
certain but we will try our best to help those in need. The Legacy
continues.......
10/21/2006: Update on Ellie, as of 4 months she is 75
lbs & 8 oz!!!! Doing wonderfully and she begins puppy class in November!!!
(puppy?)

12/22/2006: An update on baby :)

Larger and Larger:
May
10, 2007: On the left: Baby Ellie at 11 months, 145 lbs, and
relaxing on a visit!! She is completely a natural !!
The picture on the right is Ellie already at work. This man was having
a bad day and didn't want to see any of the pets initially. He was very
curious about Ellie's coloring and size. He came out into the courtyard and
said nothing as he sat down. Ellie walked right up to him, never meeting him
before, and offered her compassion and caring to someone in need. This is
what we are all about my friends.
June 24, 2007: Ellie, at her first AKC Dog Show in Orlando
Florida won Winners Bitch ( I know it sounds horrible) from an entry of FOUR
seasoned Veterans and she is still a BABY :) at 141lbs, mind you but she
'officially' has a ' point' towards her Championship!!!!!!!!!! BUT the most
important thing was when I overheard a lady saying what a beautiful bitch (
sounds horrible)she was I turned around and said ' yes, she sure is and do
you know what she is first and foremost? A Therapy Dog, the lady smiled and
said ' yes, I've heard' :) .. jan

July
2007: Pictures of Ellie at a show in Sarasota Fl. She is now one
year old AND a mere 150 lbs, 2 oz :) She was taller than most of the males
there today.
October 2007: (picture below) Good morning, this is from
her breeder :) she won her classes all three days!!!! The 'only' McEmn dog
that did :):) her 'handler' loves her Dad and Uncle so she adores my little
baby :) she out weighs her :) look at Susan's feet compared to baby's!!!!!
Ellie was taller than most there INCLUDING older MALE Danes :):) Males are
ALWAYS taller than females :) just not THIS TIME!!!!!! Everyone asked when I
was 'breeding' her, they were interested in a puppy? I said well, she will
never be bred, then I proceeded to tell them why. My little Meghan reminds
me everyday what it's like to live with a rescue, she defines gratitude. I
always tell people about my Jennie and many now come over and ask me how
Ellie's visits are going? not how many points or ribbons does she have now?
nope, from many that knew her when she was a weeeee tike, it's how are her
visits going :) sure can't put that in a frame :) So many 'show dogs' are
commodities, NOT pets and that is so sad. Susan was getting her 'set up'
before the judge came over :) of course I videotaped the entire weekend :)
Wait until you read and see the next email I'm forwarding to you :) I am
thrilled to have met this couple and their babies!!! HOPEFULLY we can open a
Chapter there? it's a

smaller
town not far from Deland Fl and their babies are wonderful :) nice couple,
they are both super nice and their babies 'are' their babies. They were just
enjoying the show, Years ago someone told them they could never use their
'dogs as Therapy Dogs' because they were both 'mixed breed' and only
purebreds were allowed? Now of course I can't

imagine anyone being THAT
stupid, but I guess it happens. What a tremendous loss yrs ago to so many
facilities. Hopefully we can change all that :) I'm always on the 'watch'
for a prospective member no matter where I am :):) I learned from the
absolute best :) many hugs to all our babies
January 26,2008 (at right) Here's the latest show picture
of Ellie at 17 months old with her very bestist friend Susan McQueen! Susan
and her husband Bill are dear friends and are owners of 'Dreaming of Tuscany
Mastiffs' in Florida where their babies want for nothing! I am so honored to
have Susan show her! Ellie just loves Susan!
03/22/08: Just announcing McEmn's Simply Elegant, Ellie, to
everyone, has 'officially retired' from the Show Ring. She will now focus
100% on being a wonderful Therapy Pet. Thanks everyone for your support
along the way. Ellie and Jan

05/24/08:
(at left) Now that Ellie has retired, she lives the active
life of a retiree.. at 164 lbs.

This is the definition of
pathetic, Ellie on the left and Duke on the right in one of their 8 to 10
hour 'naps' please note, Ellie isn't even 2 years old and Duke is 3 years :)
she is almost 2 inches taller than he is and outweighs him by 32 lbs :)
Happy
2nd Birthday to Ellie!: She celebrated her 2nd birthday yesterday
with many toys, cookies, hugs and kisses!!!!! Her afternoon celebration
ended as they all do........with her enjoying her usual 8 to 10 hour nap :)
her visits to those in need are just incredible, she simply adores people :)
everyone loves her and her Great Daneness :) she just takes my breath away
when she is visiting, the Legacy continues
07/02/08: Just letting everyone know Ellie was spayed today
and resting comfortably, she will be absent from her visits during her
recovery and her 'Brother' Duke will be filling in for her :) hugs to all of
our very well loved babies :)
Dr Adler from the Ehrlich
Animal Hospital in Tampa, Florida is Ellie's Doctor and we love her :) She
is wonderful and very, very, kind to all of her patients. She anticipates a
full recovery and Ellie will be back to making her visits soon! Thanks Dr
Adler!!
